Equipment
- 5 anesthesia apparatuses (Isoflurane Minerve)
- 3 stereotaxic apparatuses
- 5 apparatuses for automatic infusion
- Animal monitoring: calipers (tumor volume measurement), electronic scales
- Software for management of raw data and tasks for each study
- Extractor hood for manipulation of toxic compounds
- 3 centrifuge extractors

Experiments performed by the laboratory
- Treatment: IP, SC, IM, IV (bolus and infusion), intracerebral, intranasal and intratumoral injections, skin applications, oral and intrarectal administrations
- Injection of radiolabelled compounds for PK and PD (14C, 3H, 125I)
- Administration of compounds, hormone supplements (estradiol…) in water or food
- Tumor graft: SC, orthotopic (intrapleural, intrapancreatic…)
- Tumor cell injection: SC, IV, IP, orthotopic (intracerebral, intraprostatic…)
- Chemo-induction with carcinogens (DMBA, DMH…) by oral administration, skin application…
- Surgery: castration, spaying, spleen and liver ablation, microsurgery, cardiac ischemia
- Blood collection (cardiac punction, vein or artery of the tail, abdominal aorta, jugular vein…), organ and tissue collection, cardiac perfusion
- Infusion: catheter implantation in the tail vein or femoral vein (long-term infusion)
- Monitoring of tumor growth, animal body weight, survival, health status, randomization according to body weight or tumor volume
- Monitoring of food consumption, support/monitoring of animals in metabolic cages
- Removal of tissues or immunological cells for “ex-vivo” tests: preparation of cytochromes for enzymatic activity analysis, leukocyte quantification…
- Production of tumor tissues for histology, tissue arrays, RNA extraction…
Aim of these experiments in drug development
